The Christian Science Church in Exeter was built in 1937 and it has been in continuous use ever since. In 2020 we expanded access to all our services via Zoom and now we are regularly joined by people from across the world

... opens our thought to the practical healing power of Divine Love. It unlocks the spiritual sense of The Bible and reveals in a very practical way how Christ Jesus healed. As this correct view of the Omnipotence of God, good, is gained we find ourselves losing the belief that there could possibly be any other power than that of the ever-presence of Love. We discover that we are indeed the perfect likeness of God (as the Scriptures imply) and this correct view of who we truly are, heals.

How does a Christian Science healing happen?
Christian Science Reading Room in Exeter
You may be wondering what a Reading Room is all about. In the past it was quite common to have places where the public could go to read and study, well that's just what this Reading Room offers in Exeter - a quiet space for reading, thinking and praying.
There is a wide range of books to choose from, both contemporary and historical. For example the book The Story of Christian Science Wartime Activities 1939 -1946, talks about the practical work done to meet the needs of those living in war zones, as well as focusing on the metaphysical healing prayer that supports an end to human conflict.
Then there are current and past copies of Christian Science magazines, which are issued weekly and monthly and address a variety of themes, providing many verified examples of healing.
You can also read the weekly Christian Science Bible Lesson - every week there is a new lesson - and of course you can ask the librarian if you have any questions or read something that doesn't make sense. They are always ready to help.
